Why can’t people refuse when asked?!
How do people remember you?
Not so long ago I have learned to say no, when I realised not doing that might put others in “uncomfortable” situations or even worse. Maybe this is something you learn in the growing up process ( I’m glad I finally did it), but in that case, my question is why many people over 40 haven’t?
The funniest thing is people are not saying NO, because they think the are more helpful, in my case, I really wanted to help, but being involved in so many actions it happened to forget or had to reprioritise my to do list. And time was running short on everything, skipped deadlines,.. so they invented Time Management..!
I’m not willing to debate the reason why people are not used to saying no, but the question remains.
Now, the most important thing I got out of this, is that, in many cases, you’re helping more by saying no, then saying yes and not keeping your word. Let’s see what this is leading to..
The way it affects you:
- bad reputation in: keeping your word (trust)
- really bad schedule and bad time management -> loads of stress and head aches
- can destroy relationships – of any kind.
The way it affects others:
- they put their trust in you, but once let down – they won’t do that anymore
- they still have the problem you’ve been asked to solve
- a lot of stress.
Do you think it does worth it?
Learn to say no! When you say yes, keep your word. One thing will make things easier for you, is to write down a To Do list and GET THINGS DONE – that will make you and others happy! So keep helping people, but do it efficiently!

Why do i like this?
I don’t really know how i learned this. Or even if i even did. I think i i’m about 70% there because i do say no sometimes.
